I had heard the term "crowdfunding" used quite a few time, so I decided to Google it and see what I could come up with. Here is the definition of crowdfunding according to Google.
crowd·fund·ing
ˈkroudˌfəndiNG/
noun
noun: crowdfunding; noun: crowd-funding
1.
the
practice of funding a project or venture by raising many small amounts
of money from a large number of people, typically via the Internet.
"musicians, filmmakers, and artists have successfully raised funds and fostered awareness through crowdfunding"
Sounds easy enough right?
Not so much! But it is not impossible. I then googled sites to start a
campaign on. There are many choices, but i found the best to suit my
needs was GoFundMe. It is very easy to use and their customer service help is fast and very helpful.
Basically you need to "plead" your case, share within your social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Your webpage, Blog etc) and raise your first $100 dollars and then you campagin will go live on their main site.
I have not yet recieved any donations on my page, but I have not given up hope yet. I really do believe that Crowdfunding is a way to help, when there is no other way to do it.
If you have a moment and want to check out my campaign to get Unique Treasures going you can click Here. And if you have any questions or need some help, feel free to email me!
The other crowdfunding sites I found easy to navigate are:
Just be sure to read their requirements before you get started because all 3 sites are VERY different.
