To Crowdfund or not to Crowdfund? That was the question!

When I started the idea of doing a home business, I knew I was very limited in ways on how I could fund this adventure. All my current income is already eaten up by the normal things in life, bills, food, mortgage and all the other things that come along with having a house and kids. I  knew it would take more than the little bit of extra money I had left over to do this.

I had heard the term "crowdfunding" used quite a few time, so I decided to Google it and see what I could come up with. Here is the definition of crowdfunding according to Google.

the practice of funding a project or venture by raising many small amounts of money from a large number of people, typically via the Internet.

Sounds easy enough right? Not so much! But it is not impossible. I then googled  sites to start a campaign on. There are many choices, but i found the best to suit my needs was GoFundMe. It is very easy to use and their customer service help is fast and very helpful.

Basically you need to "plead" your case, share within your social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Your webpage, Blog etc) and raise your first $100 dollars and then you campagin will go live on their main site.

I have not yet recieved any donations on my page, but I have not given up hope yet. I really do believe that Crowdfunding is a way to help, when there is no other way to do it.
