To Crowdfund or not to Crowdfund? That was the question!

When I started the idea of doing a home business, I knew I was very limited in ways on how I could fund this adventure. All my current income is already eaten up by the normal things in life, bills, food, mortgage and all the other things that come along with having a house and kids. I  knew it would take more than the little bit of extra money I had left over to do this.

I had heard the term "crowdfunding" used quite a few time, so I decided to Google it and see what I could come up with. Here is the definition of crowdfunding according to Google.

Graco Canada Carseat Recall!

I just read this on Facebook and thought it would be important to post here.

Graco has released a voluntary recall on the harness buckles used on all of their toddler convertible car seats, and harnessed booster seats manufactured from 2009 to July 2013. 3,700,000 car seats are affected in the recall.
 Here is a list of the affected models, below the list is how you can contact Graco Canada about the problem.

If you have one of the affected car seart of harnessed booster seats, Graco will send you new and improved replacement harness buckle to affected at no cost. To get your replacement buckle, please contact the Graco customer service team at 1-800-345-4109 (Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.) or email then at consumerservices@gracobaby.com.

Mail to Your Home Coupon Sites!

With 5 kids at our house, I like to try and save money where I can. We don't have a printer right now so I like to find coupon sites that will mail directly to our house. Below is a list of the sites I know of. If you know of any that mail to Canadian addresses leave them in the comments below & I will update the list!

These sites are VERY easy to use and most of them allow you to link to your Facebook account so you don't have another login/password to remember. And I get the coupons in the mail very quickly (usually 2-5 business days)

Valentine's Salt Dough Ornaments!

Salt dough ornaments are a very favourite thing of mine to make with the kids!

I have started to make them to sell at Unique Treasures, but thought I would share them on here as well, so you can make them with your family, or even on your own!




What you need:

• 1 cup of flour
• 1/2 cup of table salt
• 1/2 cup of cold water
• Stuff to decorate with (paints,glitter, sharpie markers)
• Ribbon (to hang them with)
• Cookie cutters (optional, but they work well)
• Drinking straws (to cut the holes with)

The Beginning of Something Amazing!

Hello Everyone!

Just thought I'd make a post and introduce myself and what this blog will be about. I'm Sarah, A mom of three kids & step-mommy to 2 more. Yep 5 kids!!! Life is crazy around our house, almost all of the time. But we manage, and we manage well. We live in Quinte West, Ontario, Canada. I am currently working hard on starting a home business. I make crafts and sell them!


I guess the purpose of this blog is to share crafts, recipes ( I love to bake & cook), money saving tips, coupons and anything else that may pop into my head at any given time.
